Viola Just

Viola Just, 92, of New Salem, ND passed away Nov. 29, 2021 at the Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday, Dec. 4th at Peace Church in New Salem with Pastor Joshua Eddy officiating.  Burial will follow in the Peace Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to time of service at Peace Church on Saturday.

Viola was born June 29, 1929 in Hebron, ND to Jacob & Magdalina (Rehling) Fischer.  She attended school in Hebron and graduated from high school.  Viola married Lloyd Just on Dec. 27, 1948 in Mandan.  They made their home in New Salem for many years and were both active with the American Legion Post 91 and Auxiliary.  Together they enjoyed traveling, particularly to the western states where they enjoyed the mountainous scenery.  Lloyd passed away in 2005.  Viola was a long-time member of Peace Church.  She enjoyed gardening and loved to bake.  Baking was her specialty, as she was known for making countless Christmas cookies every year.

She is survived by her son, Alan Just of Terry, MT;  two grandchildren, Dana (Tom) Lamb of Hamburg, NY, & Brad Just (fiancé Jen) of Dickinson, ND;  and three great grandchildren, Payton Lamb, Mollie Just, & James Just,

Viola was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Lloyd), son (David), and daughter-in-law (Janice).
