Victor E. Schlaht, 93, Mandan, died November 26, 2015 at the Sanford on Sunset Living Center, Mandan.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Reverend Ryan Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Victor was born on October 4, 1922 in Hazen, ND to William and Dorothy (Weigum) Schlaht. He attended school in Hazen. In April 1945 he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a Seaman Second Class, and was discharged in July 1946. Returning to ND he worked as a laborer for several construction companies for most of his working years. Victor moved to Mandan and was active at Redeemer Lutheran Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and was on the church bowling league.
Victor is survived by one brother, Melvin (Yvonne) Schlaht, Tacoma, WA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Annie; and five brothers, Carl, Roland, Orland, Gordon, and Helmuth.
Memorials are preferred to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
