Tracy Gilbert, 59, Center, died March 31, 2017 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck, following an illness.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Center, with Rev. Dennis Ristvedt officiating. Cremation has taken place and the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Tracy was born November 6, 1957 in Bismarck to Arnold and Iris (Fohl) Gilbert. He grew up and attended school in Center. Tracy received his GED and enlisted in the Army National Guard of ND. Following his discharge he returned to Center and worked in the labor union and did concrete work. He enjoyed the places he traveled as a laborer. Tracy married Wendy Barden and they had a daughter, Amie. Later Tracy moved to California. On December 23, 2011 he married Gloria Salinas in Stanton, ND and they made their home in Center. Tracy loved collecting polished rocks, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping, and loved time spent with his dogs, Kiwi, Mindy, and Patches.
Blessed to have shared his life is his wife, Gloria Gilbert, Center; daughters, Amie (Ben) Winters, Zap, ND and Erin Salinas, Mandan; three sisters, Rita (Dale)McKnight, Center, Carrie (Dean) Pfeifer, Stanton, and Mary Gilbert, Gladstone; six brothers, Jim (Diane) Gilbert, Zap, Arnold Gilbert, Stanton, Paul (Terri) Gilbert, Gillette, WY, Bruce (Danna) Gilbert, CA, Phillip (Bernice) Gilbert, CT, and John Yunker, Center; and three grandchildren, Corey (Helen) Renner and Brooklynn and Olivia Winters.
Tracy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eric and Dave; and a sister, Doris.
