Ruth Baumgarten

Ruth Baumgarten, 77, Mandan, passed away April 19, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.  Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

Ruth was born March 5, 1942 to Walter and Emma (Joersz) Matthieson in New Salem.  She attended country school through the 8 ^th grade and later received her GED.  On June 16, 1961 she married Vernon Baumgarten in New Salem.   Ruth had several jobs during her life, but her greatest joy was in being a wife, mother, and homemaker.

Left to share her memory are her son, Dan Baumgarten and her daughter, Jody Weigel.  Surviving siblings are Delores Reis, Meta Suko, Gordon Matthiesen, and Sharon Paul. Grandchildren are Cody Mormann, Olivia Weigel, Jessica Baumgarten, Erin Baumgarten, and Joel Baumgarten.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vernon Baumgarten; and her sisters, Jeanette Oster and Shirley Matthiesen.
