Rosemary E. Heinle

July 22, 1935 — February 15, 2025

Bismarck

Rosemary E. Heinle, age 89, passed away February 15, 2025 at the Baptist Health and Rehab facility in Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, March 6th at the Baptist Health and Rehab Chapel, 3400 Nebraska Drive, with a luncheon to follow at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, 1701 Sunset Drive, Mandan. Burial will follow in the Methodist Cemetery in Hebron, ND.

Rosemary was born in Regent, ND, to Marion Abbey and Flora (Waddell) Abbey. Rosemary married Elmer Heinle on December 1, 1968. They spent most of their married life in Hebron and Mandan. After Elmer's death, Rosemary moved to Bismarck. She spent her final years at Baptist Health and Rehab where she was a staff favorite.

Rosemary was a strong and resilient woman. She is remembered for her feisty nature and her sense of humor. If her shoulders started to shake due to a repressed giggle, it was certain that a wisecrack would follow.

Rosemary and Elmer enjoyed going out to listen to music or maybe even dance a little. They also enjoyed playing cards. They played many rounds of 3-handed pinochle with their nephew David because it went more smoothly if Elmer and Rosemary did not play as teammates. Rosemary and Elmer also spent time camping and fishing with her niece Geraldine and her husband Dean.

She loved children. She treasured her time with her great-nieces Allicia and Amanda during their childhood. One of her favorite days was when her niece Chandra took her to a nearby playground to watch parents and children play together. She also loved it when little kids visited Baptist Health in their Halloween costumes.

Stories differ on whether Rosemary was a good cook, but she definitely did not like to cook. She could be talked into going out for ice cream at any time, even instead of dinner.

Rosemary was preceded in death by Elmer Heinle (Husband), Marion Abbey (Father), Flora Abbey (Mother), Doris Mattis (Sister), Eugene Abbey (Brother), Donald Abbey (Brother), Ronald Abbey (Brother), Lois Hoffer (Sister), Beverly Irwin (Sister), & Donna Surman (Sister).

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosemary's family wishes to thank the staff and administration at Baptist Health and Rehab for the wonderful care and love they gave Rosemary. Thank you for loving her like she was your own family. Thank you for loving our feisty little lady.
