Roger Dockter, 67, Mandan, died September 25, 2013 at Kindred Hospital, Mandan.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Bismarck’s First Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, September 27, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Roger Roy Dockter was born August 8, 1946 in Bismarck, the son of Benjamin and Mary (Boschee) Dockter. He graduated from Mandan High school in 1965. After high school, Roger’s life revolved around cooking for Holiday Inn, Double Wood, Ramkota, Lone Steer, and Radisson. He was an excellent chef! Roger loved traveling, especially driving all around Nashville, Tennessee with his PT Cruiser. His one true love was music. He was happiest when entertaining individuals with his passion of music. In 1977 he opened “Rogers Record Room”. Roger had nicknames for all of his friends and family and the nicknames have stuck with them through life. He had a magnetic personality and sense of humor that nobody will ever forget.
Blessed to have shared his life is his mother, Mary Dockter; sister, Linda Betlaf; niece, Tammy Wolt; nephew, Darin Thomas; great-niece, Maranda Lynn; two great-nephews, Nicholas Peter and Austin Benjamin Wolt, all of Mandan; and many cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Dockter.
