Bob was born November 30, 1931, in Almont, ND, to William and Florence (Keller) Joersz. He attended Almont Schools and worked for his father at the Almont grocery store. Bob graduated from Almont High School in 1949. The family then moved to Mandan where his father opened Bill's Super Valu. In 1951, Bob and his brother, Marv enlisted in the US Army during the Korean War. He returned to Mandan in November 1952, where he worked with his brothers, Marv and Wally, alongside their father in the grocery business. In 1969, Bob and his brothers bought Bill's Super Valu from their father and continued working and expanding the business until retiring in 1997. All of them remained lifelong Mandan residents. On October 28, 1953, Bob married Donna Huber at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Mandan, where Bob was an active member. In the early years, Bob enjoyed camping with his family and that continued throughout his life.  Bob’s life was his family, he loved attending his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren’s events. Bob and Donna enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Arizona, sharing time with old and new friends. A great joy of Bob’s life was his strong support of the Mandan community and the Mandan Braves

Blessed to have shared in his life are his six children, Dean Joersz, Danbury, WI, Kay (Scott) Stanford, Valley City, ND, Lori (Steve) Lenhart, Charlevoix, MI, Robin (Kevin) Schreiber, Roscoe, IL, and Todd (Niki) Joersz, Mandan; daughter-in-law, Randi Joersz, Mandan; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Karen (Dick) Nolan, Tucson, AZ and Janet (Dave) Lunde, Bellingham, WA; sister-in-law, Eileen Joersz, Mandan; and several nieces and nephews.
