Phyllis Shearer, 84, Flasher, died December 12, 2012 at St. Gabriel’s Community, Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm CT on Monday, December 17, 2012 at American Lutheran Church, Flasher, with Reverend Dale Carmen officiating. Burial will be at Fairhill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Phyllis was born February 4, 1928 to Harold and Helen (Anderson) Myers. She graduated from Flasher High School in 1946 and attended cosmetology school in Bismarck. On May 25, 1947 she married William Shearer in Flasher. Phyllis worked in the office for the US Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed crafts, baking, ceramics, playing cards, and sewing. Phyllis was a member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, American Lutheran Church, Flasher Lions Club, Flasher Historical Society, and a lifetime member of the American Auxiliary.
Blessed to have shared her life is her daughter, Tammy (Mark) Anderson, Bismarck; son, Richard Shearer, Williston; four grandchildren, Christopher (Erica) Shearer, Evan, Sara, and Emily Anderson; and one great granddaughter, Wynter Shearer.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William, in 1986; and a son, Larry.
