Otto Reuther

Otto Reuther, 93, New Salem, died February 12, 2017 at Elm Crest Manor, New Salem.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with Rev. Russell Fitch officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery in the spring.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 am on Friday at Elm Crest Manor and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Otto was born on the family home seven miles south of Center on March 11, 1923, the son of Paul and Martha (Hoger) Reuther. Raised and educated near Center, Otto was always a farmer and rancher. On October 22, 1945 he married Marian Klatt and they made their home on the family farm. Otto had great passion for horses and loved time spent with his team of horses and on trail rides. He also enjoyed playing games and cards. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren.
Blessed to have shared his life is his daughter, Karen (Don) Shulz, Reno, NV; four sons, Jerry (Jay) Reuther and Wayne (Karen) Reuther, all of Bismarck and Kent (Pam) Reuther and Keith Reuther (special friend, Janelle Walker), all of Center; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; two sisters, Hella Keller, Bismarck and Shirley (Willy) Davis, MN; and one sister-in-law, Verna Reuther, Bismarck.
Otto was preceded in death by his wife in 2008; his parents; four brothers, Walter, Arno, Ervin, and Herbert; and two sisters, Irma and Wilma.
