Mildred was born on October 27, 1927, in Cook County Chicago, IL to Art and Leondina (Kreis) Beilke. Mildred graduated from Monango High School in ND, where she was a member of the Monango ND State Girls Championship Basketball Team in 1945. On January 8, 1949, she married Victor Fiechtner.
