Marvin Koster, 81, Center, ND, died April 29, 2014 at the Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm on Monday, May 5th at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Center with a fellowship lunch to follow at the Center Civic Center.
A parish rosary / vigil will be held at 7:30 pm on Sunday at the church.
Marvin was born June 4, 1932 in Platte, SD, to John & Pearl (Ellebrook) Koster. He was raised on a farm and attended rural school. Marvin married Jean Dufek and from this union came four children, Dan, Lonnie, Dave, & Alexis. In 1985, he married Deb Champagne in Hastings, MN. They made their home in Center, ND. Marvin worked as a Boilermaker for the Local 647 for many years. His travels and jobsites took him to all of the lower 48 states. He retired from the Local 647 in 1999. Marvin and Deb owned and operated the Westernaire Bar in Center for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his pastime.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Deb Koster of Center; three sons, Dan Koster of Denver, CO, Lonnie (Barb) Koster of Sturgis, SD, and Dave (Mary) Koster of Denver, CO; one daughter, Alexis Koster of Idaho; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; six step-children, Henry Robillard, Jennifer Robillard, Richard Robillard, Jill Robillard, Robin Robillard, & Michelle Rud; two brothers, Les (Ginger) Koster of South Dakota, & Dean (Linda) Koster of Missouri; three sisters, Marilyn (Tom) Tatum of South Dakota, June Garrett of Nebraska, & Bonnie Tatum of South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; two stepchildren, (Shelly & Delray), & one niece, (Connie).
