Marilyn “Lindy” Burch, 82, Mandan, died May 22, 2016 surrounded by her family at CHI St. Alexius in Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Reverend Ryan Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Marilyn was born June 6, 1933 in Mandan to Emil and Anna (Hagerott) Bahm. She attended rural school through the eighth grade and graduated from Mandan High School in 1952. On April 6, 1958 she married Harold Burch in Mandan and they made their home south of Mandan where they raised their five children. Marilyn worked at Kist Livestock for a few years and Dykshoorn Greenhouse for 34 years. She loved the outdoors, especially gardening and mowing the grass. Marilyn enjoyed playing pinochle. Her family was her life and she treasured the time they spent together. They’ll always remember the delicious Strawberry Shortcake and Scotcharoos she made for family gatherings. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Marilyn will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Blessed to have shared her life is her husband of 58 years, Harold Burch, Mandan; two daughters, Sherry (Rodney) Stork, Arlington, NE and Karen Burch, Mandan; three sons, James (Holly) Burch, Mandan, Allen (Lynette) Burch, Sioux Falls, SD, and Darold (Lisa) Burch, Bismarck; five grandchildren, Heather (Shayne) Swallow, Brianna Burch, Katelyn (Quade) Burch, La Nora Burch, and Orrin Burch; four great grandchildren, Rylan Burch, Addison Burch, and Beau and Luke Rygaard; four sisters, Grace Uhler, Janet Dykshoorn, Darleen Cairns, and Agnes (Ralph) Kline; two brothers, Darrell (LaVonne) Bahm and Emil (Paula) Bahm; sister-in-law, Calista Bahm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Philip and Ruth Burch; brothers, Ernest and Vernon; sister, Dorothy Reisenauer; and brothers-in-law, Julie Reisenauer, Richard Uhler, Jan Dykshoorn, Jim Cairns, and Robert Burch; and sister-in-law, Anita Bahm.
