Marian J. Kitzmann, 92, of New Salem, ND, passed away April 28, 2021 at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, May 24th at Zion Lutheran Church in New Salem with Pastor Zelwyn Heide officiating. Marian’s family will greet friends one hour prior to time of service. Inurnment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, New Salem.
Marian was born August 17, 1928 in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of John and Clara (Starck) Ingalls. She attended grade school in Judson and then New Salem High School. Marian was confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran Church of Hannover, ND. On June 10, 1945 she married Arthur Kitzmann in Bismarck. They farmed in Oliver County until 1953 when they moved to their farm south of New Salem. In 1998, they retired and moved into New Salem.
Marian loved flowers and took pride in her yard. She had many hobbies especially making greeting cards, which she shared with many. She was an active 4-H leader in Oliver County, a member of the Busy Beavers Homemakers, and was a director and secretary of the ND State Pork Council.
Marian is survived by her four daughters, Marlis (Earl) Oster of Beulah, ND, Karen Ludlum of Billings, MT, Renae (Marlon) Engberg of Billings, MT, and Penny (Kevin) Hoesel of New Salem, ND; Seven grandchildren, Angela Oster of Beulah, ND, Troy (Pam) Oster of Austin, MN, Chad Oster of Longmont, CO, Racquel Kaelberer of Billings, MT, Becky (Moses) Goodwin of Moncks Corner, SC, Jeremy (Nicole) Hoesel of Arthur, ND, and Shelby (Chad) Finch of Wasilla, AK; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one nephew, Lee Ingalls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Art), grandson (Court Kaelberer), great-granddaughter (Brittney Kaelberer), son-in-law (Gary Ludlum), and two brothers (Donald Ingalls and Elgy Ingalls).
