Linda Marie Stastny passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2014, at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
A funeral service will be ¬¬held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with Reverend Ron Hildahl officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, October 14 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Linda was born in Mandan to Thomas Sr. and Mary (Schmidt) Stastny on September 3, 1955. She was raised on the farm south of Mandan and attended Little Heart School #2. The family moved into Mandan in October 1970, and continued to reside there.
Linda moved into Liberty Heights in May of 1993, and resided there until her death. She enjoyed walking downtown when the weather permitted to visit with her friends at various businesses. Linda was also a member of the Western Bohemian Lodge for over 50 years, and had many memories of her dad playing the accordion at the Bohemian Hall south of Mandan.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Thomas in 1983 and Mary in 1995; one sister-in-law, Karen Stastny in 1999; and numerous uncles and aunts.
Linda is survived by two brothers, Thomas Jr. (Marlene) Stastny and Robert (Candice) Stastny, all of Mandan; nephew, Kevin (Teri) Stastny, Bismarck; nieces, Kim (Jason) Friedt, Bismarck, Tina (Jared) Bay, Mandan, and Trisha (Calvin) Erickson, West Fargo; great nieces, Brandi Jude and Kaylee Friedt; great nephews, Alex Stastny, Tyler and Austin Bay, and Jake Friedt; and a great great nieces, Dakota and Evalyn. She also had a very special aunt, Margaret Schmidt, of Fargo and a very special friend, William Salver, at Liberty Heights.
