Lawrence Zinnel

Lawrence Matt Zinnel, 92, Mandan, died September 5, 2018, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, September 10, 2018, at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Rev. Ron Hildahl officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Lawrence was born May 2, 1926, in St. Anthony, ND.  Following his education, Lawrence moved to Mandan and worked at Red Owl, where he met Lila Hohbein.  They were married on September 10, 1949, and made their home in Mandan.  Lawrence and Lila had three children: Lillian, Lyle, and Lloyd. Lawrence worked at Cloverdale Food for over 50 years.

Lawrence loved working in his yard, and in his younger years, he enjoyed fishing. Lawrence also enjoyed traveling and taking mini trips with Lila around North Dakota. Family was very important to him, and he took great pride and joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Blessed to have shared his life are his children, Lillian (Ed) Gallagher, Highlands Ranch, CO, and Lyle (Teri) Zinnel, Mandan, ND; five grandchildren, Todd, Jason and Mike Gallagher, and Zachariah and Tyler Zinnel; and seven great-grandchildren, Colby, Walker, Morgan, Cyrus, Colton, Dustin Gallagher, and Zachariah Zinnel Jr; two great-great-grandchildren Rena and Mathew Gallagher; sisters in-law; nieces; and nephews.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lila; and his son, Lloyd.
