Laureen Tausend-Morrissey, 63, died peacefully in her sleep Oct. 25, 2012, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Mandan United Methodist Church, 610 12th St. N.W., Mandan, with the Rev. Bruce Adams officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service at the church. Cremation has taken place.
Laureen was born Dec. 17, 1948, to Wilmont and Althea (Suchy) Tausend of Mandan. On Nov. 10, 1984, she married her true love, Robert Morrissey of Omaha, Neb., in Mandan. After working in the child care profession for many years, her cerebral palsy became too much for her, Laureen had to regrettably retire and move into the Mandan Care Center. Later, together with her husband, they moved to the Marion Manor in Glen Ullin, where she lived until hospitalized at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Laureen is survived by her mother, Althea Kessel; and her brothers, Wes (Linda) Tausend, Bismarck, Monte (Linnie) Tausend, Lincoln, and Terrel (Connie) Tausend, Mandan.
Laureen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her father, Wilmont Tausend; and her grandparents, Joe and Nettie Suchy and Moritz and Alva Tausend.
