Kathy Kaelberer, 64, Mandan, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mandan with Fr. Fred Harvey officiating. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in rural New Salem. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13 from 4-6 PM with a Rosary and Parish Vigil at 6:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home in Mandan.
Kathy was born August 12, 1958, in Bismarck to Mike and Regina (Wingenbach) Nagel. She graduated from St. Gertrude’s High School in 1976. On May 16, 1992, she married the love of her life, Kent Kaelberer. Together they had one son, Ryan. Kathy worked at Bismarck Surgical Associates until her retirement in August of 2022. She was known as “Ducky” by her friends and family, especially her softball team!
Kathy is survived by her husband, Kent, son, Ryan (Rachel) and grandson, Hudson Lee; her siblings, Dorothy (Dave) Armbrust, Ilene (Dennis) Hammond, Claudia (Duane) Goetz, Duane (Diane) Nagel, Lori (Chuck) Volk and Jim (Roxann) Nagel, brothers-in-law, Reed and Paul Kaelberer along with numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews and her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Regina Nagel; siblings, Diane Nagel, Mike Nagel Sr., Mary Jane Grosz and Tim Nagel; brothers-in-law, Baldwin Grosz, George Boehm Sr. and a nephew, Edwin Grosz. She was also preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Delbert and Irene Kaelberer.
