Karen Marzolf, 66, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck. Memorial services will take place Saturday, May 14, 2022, 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tappen. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Karen was born August 27, 1955 to Jacob and Mary (Gardner) Kapp in Tappen, ND. She graduated from Tappen in 1973. A few short months later she married Donald Marzolf, the love of her life, on January 26, 1974. Following their marriage they lived in Jamestown, Medina, Crystal Springs and Tappen. Karen was a CMA most of her life at Central Dakota Village and North Dakota State Hospital in Jamestown. Karen loved to spend time outdoors in her gardens, she loved to read, she also loved a good cold Coke. She loved any kind of board game and was very competitive, especially with the game aggravation. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed everyone she knew. She cherished the relationship she had with God. Most of all she loved and was very proud of her grand kids Liberty and Riley.
She is survived by her children Joshua (Annette) Fargo, ND; Karrissa (Corey) Mandan, ND; Paul, Mandan, ND; David, Streeter, ND; grand children Liberty and Riley; sister Linda (Buddy) Tappen, ND; brothers Dale (Teresa) Dawson, ND; Ted, Tappen, ND; sisters-in-law Linda, Tappen; Connie, Dawson; Nona, Dawson; brother-in-law Oscar, Medina; several nieces and nephews; grand furbabies Logan, Nova, Scruffy and Peanut.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband Donald, her parents; brothers Bill, Daniel, Clarence, Eugene, Jake, Larry; sisters Betty and Lorane; infant brother Walter; and a set of twins.
