Karen was born November 3, 1942 in Mandan to Allan and Rose (Koch) Dutton. Raised and educated in Mandan, she attended St. Joseph School and Mandan High School. She always enjoyed going to her cousin’s farm, especially when she got to milk cows or haul bales. Karen always had a love for music, especially Elvis and Dwight Yoakam, and she enjoyed helping her friend, Roger Dockter, with his DJ business. Karen worked for many years at the 7 Seas in Mandan doing laundry. Later, she worked for HIT, but due to declining health, had to stop working. She had many wonderful memories of the trips throughout her life. Karen was a member of the Moose, Eagles, and American Legion Auxiliaries. Friendly and giving of her time, Karen will be remembered as a fun woman who was always willing to debate her opinion and share a laugh.
Left with fond memories are her close cousins, Tony Koch and Evy Henderson, both of Mandan; special friend, Roger Dockter, Mandan; all of her Hettich cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
