Funeral services for Joyce Tveito, 88, of Mandan will be held 1:30 P.M., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at First Lutheran Church in Mandan with Pastor Phil Leer officiating. Interment will follow in the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Wednesday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Tveito passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Good Samaritan Society - Sunset Drive from cancer.
Joyce Elaine Tveito was born on July 27, 1935 the daughter of S. Edwin and Minnie (Hovland) Anderson in Maddock, No. Dak. She was raised and educated in Maddock graduating from Maddock High School. In 1954, Joyce married Gerhard Tveito. In 1955 the couple made their home in Mandan, here they raised their family.
Joyce’s primary focus was her family. She spent her days caring for the kids and tending to their home. As they grew older she worked at the local Hallmark stores.
Joyce’s hobbies included sewing; she was a beautiful seamstress and bowling, she was a very dedicated bowler, bowling in leagues for many many years.
She also stayed busy as a member of the Mandan Eagles and the Mandan Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary.
Joyce’s encouraging words “God will never give you more than you can handle!” will be remembered by those who knew her and her kind heart.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her 5 children: Gerri Ressler of Bozeman, Mont., Karen (Jerry) Rychlik, Steven (Marlene), Leigh and Curtis Tveito all of Mandan. Also left behind are her 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: David “Pete” and Roger Anderson of California and sister, Gwen Branner of Idaho as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; son-in-law, Dave Ressler and daughter-in-law Sheila Tveito along with numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
