Iver C. Unterseher, 91, Mandan, died October 27, 2015.
Per Iver’s wishes, his body has been donated to the UND School of Medicine. No funeral services will be held.
Iver was born July 13, 1924 in Edin, Idaho to Otto and Eva (Weisz) Unterseher. He was educated in Mercer County. On June 25, 1944 he married Alice Reinhardt in Hazen. He and Alice owned and operated a hotel in Stanton and a grocery store in Bismarck. Iver worked for JC Penny Co. in Mandan and in 1954 started as a sanitarian with the Custer District Health Unit, retiring in 1979.
Iver is survived by his two children, Lamont (Gloria) Unterseher and LaRue (Adam) Jurgens; three grandchildren, Monty and Steve Unterseher and Jacob (Emily) Leingang III; five great grandchildren, Madison, Brandy, Emily, Jacob IV, and Lauren; and one great great grandchild, Gracie Lee.
Iver was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice, in 2007; and his granddaughter, Camaie Unterseher in 2008.
