Gerald F. “Jerry” Sheehan, 76, passed away on December 14, 2010 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Jerry was born on March 13, 1934 in Richey, Montana the son of Charles and Nellie (Smith) Sheehan. He was the twelfth of thirteen children. After graduating from high school in Sidney, Montana, Jerry joined the United States Army. He was honorably discharged on March 15, 1955 at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. Jerry went on to attend Eastern Montana College in Billings, Montana where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Counseling. On August 15, 1964 he was united in marriage to Lois Guy in Billings and to this union two daughters were born, Teresa and Tania. Jerry and Lois made their home in Minot, ND where he was the Education Officer at the Minot Air Force Base. After his retirement he spent a brief time working for the Des Lacs Burlington School System. Jerry and Lois moved to Mandan, ND in 2005 to be closer to family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lois; two daughters, Teresa (Joseph) Schweitzer of West Fargo and Tania (John) Schell of Bismarck; four grandchildren, Allison & Jake Schweitzer and Lucas & Josie Schell; two sisters, Lila (Harold) Bauxbam of Sidney, MT and Velma Balder of Wolf Point, MT. Preceeding him in death are his parents; seven brothers, Libern, Carl, Charles, Ivan, Leonard, Edward, and James; and three sisters, Hazel Rosaaen, Alice Umback, and Sylvia Schow.
