Florence Porsborg, 98, Judson, died October 22, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with Reverend Deanna Reikow officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Florence Jeanette Porsborg, the daughter of Henry and Jeanette (Ingalls) Kuller, was born on December 9, 1916 at the Bismarck Hospital. She was raised on a farm south of Judson. Florence attended the Judson Elementary School for two years and then a rural school near her home. She graduated from New Salem High School in 1932. She received her First Grade Elementary Certificate and Second Grade Professional Certificate from Dickinson Normal College and her B.A. from Mary College in Bismarck. Florence taught for 44 years in Morton County Schools; 8 years in the rural school south of Judson, 2 years in Almont, 1 year in Hebron, 28 years in Judson, and 5 years in New Salem before retiring in 1980. She always thought of her students as her family. Florence worked in the County Agents office in Mandan one summer and at Montgomery Wards during World War II in the WPA office. In March 1949 Florence married Glenn Porsborg and they made their home in Judson. They enjoyed traveling around the US. Florence loved cats, dogs, and horses.
Florence is survived by her nephew, Gilbert M. “Mike” Kuller (special friend, Karen Griffin), Mandan, and his daughter, Sherry Kuller, Bismarck; a niece-in-law, Jenny Kuller; great nieces, Kimberly Kuller (boyfriend, Todd Scott), Velva, ND; Amanda Kuller, Bismarck; and Kelsey Kuller, Phoenix, AZ; and great nephew, Kirk (Melanie) Kuller, Phoenix, AZ.
Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, in 1992; her parents; her brother, Gilbert H. Kuller; and a nephew, Keith Kuller.
