Ethel Pearl Storm, 96, Mandan, died June 12, 2017 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Rev. Christina Martin officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Ethel Pearl Morgan was born April 6, 1921 in Dubuque, Iowa to John and Marie (Wilkinson) Morgan. She attended Dubuque schools and graduated from high school in 1939. Ethel worked for many years at Montgomery Wards as a department head sales person.
On November 23, 1950 Ethel married Waldemar Storm in the Chapel of the Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque. Waldemar served as a Pastor for 33 years in various parishes in ND, SD, and MN. Ethel was always by his side and worked as his secretary for many years. She was an active member of the churches, serving on many committees. She also taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, belonged to the altar guild, and was active in the Women's Organization of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. Ethel was a member of the North Dakota Association of the Blind since 1992. A very dedicated wife and mother, Ethel was a great cook, especially her fried chicken and homemade pies. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Blessed to have shared her life are one son and two daughters, Dr. Waldemar (Paula) Storm, Fargo, ND, Lorri (Michael) Stewart, Bismarck, and Vivian Storm (Jerry Ruff), LaCrosse, WI; nine grandchildren, Kathleen, Paul, and Jennifer Storm, Matthew and Natalie Stewart, Ethan and Gregory Ruff, Quinn (Olivia) Ruff, and Alice (Howard) Heinrich; and two great-grandchildren, Owen Ruff and Neil Heinrich.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wally in 2009; one sister, Margaret; and four brothers, Kenneth, Paul, Harold, and Carl Morgan.
