Edna Kottsick

Edna Kottsick, 73, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at her home under hospice.  Per Edna’s wishes, cremation has taken place and Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 19 at 11:00 am at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home in Mandan followed by burial at St. John’s Cemetery south of Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Edna was born February 18, 1947 to Floyd and Ella (Popelka) Schmidt in Mandan.  On November 27, 1964 she married the love of her life, Eugene Kottsick in Mandan.  Together, her and Gene shared the joy of raising their three children, Sherri, Bud and Mark.

Edna is survived by her three children, Sherri (Brett) Peiler, Bud (Cindy) Kottsick and Mark (Roberta) Kottsick; grandchildren, Chelsie, Evan, Carly, Dakota and Darrick; siblings, Richard (Cindy) Schmidt, Gary Schmidt, Delores Ternes and Cheryllyn Schmidt; Gene’s siblings, Marlene (Jack) Pulkrabek, Josephine (Henry) Kalvoda, Chuck (MJ) Kottsick, Kathy (Steve) Brown, Jim Kottsick and Dave (Kathy) Kottsick as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, her parents Floyd and Ella Schmidt; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Eleanor Kottsick; brother, Donald Schmidt, sister-in-law, Marilyn Kottsick; granddaughter, Emma Lynn St. Peter; daughter-in-law, Julie Kottsick and nephew, Dean Schmidt.
