Dorothy Hintz

d. June 22, 2014

Dorothy A. Hintz, 94, formerly of Hannover, died June 22, 2014 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 25 at St. Peter Church in Hannover with Reverend Russell Fitch officiating. Burial will be at the Hannover Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Dorothy was born to Herman W. and Rosetta (Kern) Henke on August 26, 1919. On June 16, 1946, Dorothy and William F. Hintz were wed at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hannover. The two were partners in farming and in the raising of four children. Together they raised their children in the Christian faith and nurtured them in love and forgiveness.
After Bill’s death in 1979, Dorothy lived a full and adventurous life. She took many trips around Montana and the Pacific Northwest. She learned the art of china painting and dazzled us with her artistic talents. Dorothy immersed herself in family and often traveled to participate in celebratory events for her grandchildren. She doted over her three grandchildren. “Grandma” cooked their favorite foods and sewed numerous special event outfits for them. She was extremely proud of all their accomplishments and prayed for them daily.
Dorothy’s confirmation verse was Rev. 2:10, “Be thou faithful until death and I will give you a crown of life.” She wrote these words into the front of her Bible. It is easy to make the connection she used these words to be her daily guide. Dorothy read God’s Word daily and rarely missed opportunities to worship Jesus, her Lord and Savior. Her daily attention to God’s Word and worshiping were a wonderful model to her family and community. In all of life’s challenges, Dorothy prayed for strength and patience.
Dorothy is survived by her four children and their spouses, Roselyn (Ron) Newton, Ray (Carol) Hintz, Renee (Mike) Patzer, and Janet (Rick) Reynolds; three grandchildren, Nolana Newton, Morena Newton, and Kenya Patzer; and four very precious great- grandchildren, Safiyah, Omar, Adela, and Elise. She also leaves behind siblings Hilda Jensen, Adeline Wilkens, Mildred (Duane) Bueligen, Ervin Henke, Herbert Henke, and many nieces and nephews.
To God be the glory!
