Dale was born September 14, 1920 at the Bismarck hospital, the son of Clarence A. and Julia (Knudson) Gullickson. He grew up in a sod home near Almont, ND. Dale graduated from Solen High School in 1938 and later from Wahpeton College with an engineering degree. Enlisting in the US Navy, Dale served in WWII. He married Vivian Kronberger and they shared eight children. A love for the land, Dale enjoyed farming near Solen for many years. In 1987 Dale married Donna Mae Dillmann, who brought eight step children to their family. They enjoyed each others company and families for many years. They were married 9 years when Donna Mae passed in September 1996. Dale will be remembered as a "Jack of all Trades." He was mechanically minded and liked to fix and tinker with things. He enjoyed working on Ford vehicles and tractors, especially John Deere. Also an accomplished wood worker, he built many items his family will treasure. Dale was fond of horses and cats. He enjoyed gardening, especially roto-tilling, which he?d do for his family whether they needed it or not! He could be counted on to always be there to lend a hand. Having company visit his home was something he always enjoyed and looked forward to. Listening to music, reading, and watching tv were pastimes he always liked. He was easy to talk to and once you got to know Dale, you liked him. He moved to the nursing home in April 2010 and made many friends there, including the staff who were very fond of him. He was a talented and kind man with a heart of gold. A father figure and Grandpa to many, he will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him. Left with fond memories are two sons, Dean (Susan), St. Paul, MN and Don, Bismarck; five daughters, Debra Gullickson, Fargo, Eileen Gullickson (Tim) Hillier, Canada, Faye (Todd) Richter, Fargo, Lynn (Mike) Jundt, Savage, MN, and Michelle Gullickson, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Linda Gullickson; eight step children, (Bob) Haney, Stan Dillmann, Bill (Darlene) Dillmann, Joyce (John) Schmidt, Gerry (Dawn) Dillmann, Jim (Karen) Dillmann, Kandi (Terry) Frohlich, and Lori (Brian) Edsall; 8 grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 30 step great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Aaron (Bernice), Cannonball and Owen (Blossom), Fort Yates.
