Celeste Berger

Celeste L. Berger, 85, Mandan, died April 10, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mandan United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Adams officiating.  Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 7 pm.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Celeste was born November 13, 1932 in Garrison, ND to William and Elvira (Rodahl) Trueblood.  She graduated from high school and attended University of Mary.  On May 31, 1955 she married Anthony Berger in Emmet, ND.  Celeste worked as a secretary for the State Fur Co., State Auditor’s office, Motor Vehicle Dept., and was supervisor for Central Data Processing.  She retired in 1988 after 35 years working for the State of ND.  Celeste was a member of the Mandan United Methodist Church, Button Club, Tops Club, and Women’s Circle.

Blessed to have shared her life are three children, Sandra (David) Becker, Bismarck, Cynthia (Jim) Monahan, Mandan, and Greg (Rosemary) Berger, Bismarck; a nephew who lived with the family, Brent Mossbarger; 6 grandchildren, Evie Thomashefsky, Allison (Lee) Olsen, Katelyn Monahan (fiancé, Ben), Ethan Monahan (fiancée, Abby), Alisha (Casey) Gertz, and Daryl Berger; 6 great-grandchildren, Hunter, Corra, Alder, Kamdyn, Karter, and Hayden; two brothers, Loren Trueblood and Howard (Jean) Trueblood, all of Garrison; and sisters-in-law, Patsy Trueblood, Minot, Loretta Toman, Rosemary Berger, and Frances Mae Berger.

Celeste was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony in 2012; son-in-law, Martin Anderson; grandson, Tony Monahan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Trueblood, Myron Trueblood, and Elsie Trueblood; brother-in-law, Albert Toman; and sister-in-law, Viola Mossbarger.
