Calvin Huether, 82, Mandan, died November 22, 2011 at Medcenter One Living Center, Mandan.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with Reverend Jack Carlson officiating. Burial will be at Tepee Cemetery in Regent, ND at 2:15 pm CST on Saturday with Reverend Joe Burgess performing the committal service.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, November 25, 2011 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Calvin was born April 11, 1929 in Regent to Fred and Pauline (Heckenlaible) Huether. He was raised and educated in Regent. Calvin married Bernice Shern on July 17, 1948 in Regent and they farmed there following their wedding. In 1966 Calvin moved to Bismarck where he worked at Kirschman Manufacturing as a laborer. He was a member of the Eagles and Moose. Calvin loved gardening and was known for growing huge tomato plants and canning the best pickles. A quiet man who enjoyed a simple life, he will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Blessed to have shared his life are five sons, Eugene (Vernetta) Huether, Savage, MN, Larry (Wanda) Huether, Mandan, Randy Huether (special friend, Joyce Schulz) and Bryan Huether, all of Bismarck, and Jeff (Brenda) Huether, Mandan; two daughters, Charlene (John) Mead, Sparks, NV and Kelli Jennings, Clovis, CA; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a sister, Anna Aasheim, Enderlin, ND; and two brothers, Art Huether, Mott and Melvin Huether, Bismarck.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; his spouse; and two granddaughters, Danielle and Chasity.
