Burton Bornemann

April 7, 1926 — August 3, 2017

Burton L. Bornemann, 91, of Center, ND, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Assisted Living at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM, CT, Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hannover, ND, with Reverend Russ Fitch officiating. Burial will take place at Hannover Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 PM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hannover, ND. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Burton was born on April 7, 1926, north of Hannover on the family farm to Christian and Hattie (Wolf) Bornemann, the first of four boys. He was a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He attended country school in Hannover until the 8th grade.

Burton married Bernice Henke on September 18, 1949, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, and together they were blessed with five children. Burton farmed until he retired in 1990 and moved to Center, ND. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends and family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Blessed to have shared his life, Burton is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bernice; five children, Diane Heagle, Fargo; Tim (Doretta) Bornemann, Mandan; Kay (Tony) Aguilar, Harlingen, TX; Russell (Dawn) Bornemann; Hannover; Karen (LeRoy) Hintz, West Fargo; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Dawn) and Dale (Lois), Hannover; sister-in-law, Bernice Bauer, New Salem; and many nieces and nephews.

Burton was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Donald; and one son-in-law, Greg Heagle.
