Bobbie Jo was born December 18, 1978 in Mandan to Bill and Pam (Dillon) Berger. A tomboy growing up, Bobbie loved kitties and fishing. She was raised and educated in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1998. Bobbie loved to shop and was blessed with the gift of gab. She could strike up a conversation and make a friend anywhere. Bobbie had wonderful collections of dolls, seashells, and sunflowers that she treasured. A trip to the coast led Bobbie to fall in love with the ocean. She would stare at it for hours and had dreams to visit again. A fun sense of humor, she was known for her practical jokes. A passion for sweets, she always had a stash of candy, especially Jelly Bellies, Lifesavers, and Tootsie Pops. Bobbie enjoyed music, movies, and watching reality shows. Bobbie always had a special place in her heart for children and found her purpose and true love of her life on June 5, 2000 when her life was blessed with her son, Brenden. He has his mom’s blonde hair, sparkle in his eye, and friendly smile. On December 16, 2005 Bobbie married Sonny Schmidt in Mandan. They shared not only a love for each other, but for life and laughter. Much loved and a true friend, Bobbie’s memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her. Each time we see a seashell or pass a field of sunflowers, we will feel her love and presence. Although her time with us was much too short, we were blessed just to know her. Left with fond memories is her husband, Sonny Schmidt, Mandan; son, Brenden, Mandan; parents, Bill (Mickie) Berger, Mandan and Pam Berger, Oroville, CA; sister, Billie Jo Berger and her children, Ashley, Kambree, and Chandler; grandmother, Angie “Seashell” Berger; father and mother-in-law, John and Joyce Schmidt; sister-in-law, Jenny (Jamie) Reinholt; and niece, Julia, all of Mandan.
Bobbie was greeted in heaven by her twin sister, Marguerite and grandparents, Adam Berger and Jerry and Betty Dillon.
The family prefers memorials that will be placed in an account for Brenden.
