Ardell Mehlhoff, 73, Mandan, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2018 at her home.
A memorial prayer service will be held at 7 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. Cremation has taken place and friends may gather from 5 to 8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 13 at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Ardell was born December 9, 1944 in Mandan to Alfred and Eleanora (Ost) Schwartz. Raised and educated in Mandan, she graduated from Mandan High School in 1962. Ardell loved art and put a lot of work in to becoming a talented artist. She enjoyed Art in the Park and owned The Artworks Art & Frame Shop in downtown Bismarck. As a young woman, Ardell worked as a stewardess for United Airlines and was extremely proud that she was able to take her parents to Hawaii. She loved and cherished her grandkids. Attending their games and activities was a highlight of her life. Ardell had a green thumb and loved house plants and gardening. She was happy to have reconnected with friends via Facebook and enjoyed getting together and visiting. Time spent at the river and boating was something she really enjoyed, as well as the time she spent in Sedona, Arizona.
Blessed to have shared her life are her three children, Shawn Mehlhoff, Fargo, Miles (Jessica) Mehlhoff, Mandan, and Michelle Mehlhoff (fiancé, Michael Elstad), Bismarck; five grandchildren, Gage, Madison, Hayden, Parker, and Maxsen; one sister, Diana (Dennis) Jahner, Mandan; and her dog, Choco.
Ardell was preceded in death by her parents; special friend, Mylo Mehlhoff; and granddaughter, Taylor.
